Please hear me when I tell you that you want to read CLOVER BLUE! You may be asking yourself how I know you want to read CLOVER BLUE, which is ok with me because I have an answer for you. I know with certainty because I read bestselling Edwards’ debut novel, This I Know, and I immediately connected with the story and could not put the book down until I had read the last word. After which I sat motionless, staring out at nothing while digesting This I know from beginning to end within my mind.
I had never read a novel that related so closely to my own coming of age. If you are a Baby Boomer, and I will not admit to being a Baby Boomer because that’s just TMI. However, if you are a Baby Boomer or a Baby Bust (commonly known as Generation X), which I am more inclined to feel a part of, you must read This I Know because I believe you will find yourself relating to the story as I did. I read and reviewed This I Know last May; my review of This I Know can be found here.
I will give you a better description of This I Know shortly, but I want to talk about Edwards’ newest novel CLOVER BLUE that will be debuting May 28, 2019, which is why I am writing this blog post. By the way, according to an Instagram post, Eldonna Edwards is going to be blogging sneak peeks into the story CLOVER BLUE over the next 19 weeks, before its release. I may have read something about a reader’s contest so stay tuned to Edwards’ blog. She has a reputation of giving some pretty cool book swag away; the best I’ve yet to see.
So, let’s start by watching the new book trailer from Kensington Publishing for CLOVER BLUE, which is short. Another promise.
The following press release of CLOVER BLUE provides additional information about the book and its author, Eldonna Edwards:
CLOVER BLUE is available for pre-order from AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE, INDIEBOUND
This I Know and LOST IN TRANSPLANTATION are also available from the listed retailers and others.
Eldonna Edwards is one of the most selfless, kind, giving and creative authors I have come to know. But I cannot do her justice as the BIO PAGE of her website can.
“Eldonna Edwards is a beloved writer’s conference instructor and former therapeutic journaling facilitator, who “cut her teeth” as she puts it, on the back of Southern Baptist pews in her provincial Midwest hometown. She grew up in a large family with an evangelical pastor at its head, an upbringing that provided a fertile background from which to harvest setting and characters. The voice in her debut novel THIS I KNOW comes straight from the heart. Eldonna is also the subject of the award-winning documentary “Perfect Strangers” that follows one kidney patient and one potential kidney donor in their search for a possible match. Her memoir LOST IN TRANSPLANTATION also chronicles this life-changing decision.”
Note: I originally stated that I would provide you with a more complete description of This I Know, but I have provided the links to both This I Know and LOST IN TRANSPLANTATION: Memoir of an Unconventional Organ Donor.
Edward’s memoir LOST IN TRANSPLANTATION is one of many reasons I referred to Edwards as selfless, kind and giving. Would you seek out someone that was in need of a kidney transplant and give one of your kidneys to a stranger? That takes an extraordinary type of person and perhaps that is why Eldonna Edwards has become a shooting star. There are two things I regularly say, in fact, one is tattooed around my ankle as a bracket connected with a little red heart: “Love is Love is Love is Love is Love” from Lin Manuel’s infamous speech. The other is “Love is a verb.” I don’t remember exactly where I read this, but this is also one of Edwards’ mantras.

Because Eldonna is a hat gal, I could not pass up the opportunity of giving you a hat shot.
Thanks for this. I’ve been trying to reduce the size of my TBR pile — but I suspect I’ll add at least one of Eldonna’s very soon.

You are so welcome, Eldonna, and deserving. It is always a pleasure to write about you, as a person and an author. Your heart is all about giving to humanity (Love is a verb!) And you are truly a naturally gifted author.
I am thankful to you for inviting me to be on your Street Team.
